Azizi made the remark in a meeting with the officials of the Chabahar port city and governor-general of Sistan and Baluchestan province on Wednesday, noting that the capacities of the Chabahar Free Trade-Industrial Zone provides not only the Iranian people but also investors of the neighboring countries with very appropriate opportunity.
As to the memoranda of understanding signed in previous years, the caretaker proposed reviewing of certain topics of the MoUs.
According to the Afghan official, despite the fact that there are regional rivals such as Dubai, Oman and Qatar, the Chabahar Free Trade-Industrial Zone enjoys a geostrategic position to attract world traders.
He also called for contribution of the port city to the revitalization of the ancient Silk Road between Afghanistan and China.
Mohammad Karami, Governor General of Sistan and Baluchestan Province, stressed the implementation of agreements between Afghanistan and Iran, noting that the development of ties with various countries, including Afghanistan, can improve trade, economy, and progress of both states.
